The Website

The Thracian Art Treasures gallery was first posted to the web in October 1998, about a year after I acquired an Internet account at home. It was the third such gallery posted and was by far the largest with twelve images. The small scale of the paintings allowed me to scan them directly on my flatbed scanner, a CanoScan FB121OU. Typical of its day, the site was laid out using table tags to control the layout.

In 2005, I renovated the gallery entirely, converting the layout to use cascading stylesheets and ensuring that the pages validate to W3 standards. I took the opportunity to refresh the design somewhat and add a few small elements, including this page and the image rotator. I also recompressed the image files to help make download time shorter.

If my little set of paintings has you wondering about Thrace, you can always pick up a copy of Thracian Art Treasures for yourself at www.abebooks.com or visit one of the links below:.
