5 FIGURINE OF HORSE, NEAR PHILIPPI, ON THE RIVER STROUMA

Seventh century B.C. Bronze, height 6 cm. Antiquities Department, Archaeological Museum, Sofia. Inv. no 1578

Two incisions divide head from neck. Legs and tail, of equal length, joined at front, sides and back to pedestal, as in similar statuettes of horses from Greece. Worked in geometrical style throughout.
